Pitching your music to Spotify Playlists can have lackluster results if you don’t plan correctly. Recently, I decided to test this feature using the Spotify for Artists dashboard. With no monthly listeners and no real data, you can guess what my results were.

If you really want to get your music placed on spotify playlists, you’ll have to be smart about your strategy. Never pitch Spotify your first song. Instead, try reaching out to independent playlist curators to build traction on the platform.

When using Spotify’s Playlist Pitching tool, be sure to be as descriptive as possible.This gives the Spotify algorithm more information to make sure your music is matched to the correct playlists.
